For a restaurant without a digital footprint, Quattordici on the Royal Parade, Chislehurst is doing okay.
We popped in this Thursday to check it out and we were lucky to find a table available. It was packed! They have just a holding page for a website and just a simple facebook page with very little info. But it seems to be enough as this brand is being built on its reputation, service and the quality of its food. The restaurant is also much bigger than you think with more than 80 covers available. It looks beautiful too – painted in soft blue hues with elegant contemporary lighting. If you are wondering what that gorgeous blue paint is – it is Dulux Denim Drift.
And we can vouch for the food too. Between us, we sample the calamari, the risotto frutti di mare and the bistecca. The quality of the food was excellent and we were left wanting more! Had to get back for the babysitter but next time, we’ll be going for the full 3 courses.
The menu is extensive with a very traditional Italian feel.
For mains, you can choose between risottos, traditional pasta dishes, a selection of home-made pastas and both fish and meat dishes. The prices start from around £11.95 for the simple pasta dishes up to £26.95 for a fillet steak.
Concerned about how busy the restaurant was, we were surprised at how quickly we were served our starter. The service was good – a perfect balance of being attentive but not too much so. We are looking forward to returning to Quattordici soon.
When it was announced that yet another Italian was being opened in Chislehurst, you could hear a gentle sigh from the local residents. But in fact, locals seem to be embracing this new addition to our community. I think this eatery will keep nearby restaurants on its toes, especially nearby Due Amici and Cote Brasserie on the main High St. We wish Quattordici the very best of luck with their new venture.
